APPLIED FIELD SPECTROSCOPY

This is a syllabus compiled for Short Courses taught to support ground truth techniques for remote sensing applications.

The authors are Phoebe Hauff of Spectral International, Brian Curtiss of Analytical Spectral Devices, Douglas Peters of Peters Geosciences, Ron Lyon of Stanford University and Anne Thompson of Petrascience Consultants.

The syllabus covers both solar and internal light source spectrometers with basic theory. Ancillary articles are also included.

Applications focus on exploration and alteration systems, remote sensing ground truth, environmental monitoring and characterization of mine waste locations and characterization of vegetation. Data collection and interpretation techniques are discussed in detail, along with spectral variability.
